The Gold Program allows Dairy Herd Improvement production records to
be transmitted from regional computing centers to the ABA office on a
monthly schedule and added to the individual animal records of the
association. Milk, butterfat and protein records of the 305-day standard
production period, the 365-day extended period, and completed records of
any length may be accommodated by the Gold Program.
Herd owners
enrolled in the Gold Program are eligible for a variety of national
awards and recognitions sponsored by the association.
Program fees for
the Gold Program are included in the annual Rewards Program, as are the
fees for animal registry, transfers and classification.
"Program fees are $30 for annual herd fee plus $3.60 per milking
age females."
